Career Coaching Services

Career coaching services at Career Change Pathways are designed to help you discover your authentic lifework, a career based on your strengths, values, and life purpose. What makes my career transition process unique is its focus on the experience, needs, and challenges of people 50 and over.

Authentic Career Change™ Program

The Authentic Career Change™ program is a 6-step process that guides you through identifying and finding meaningful work that fits who you are and allows you to make a difference. The process takes a whole-life approach to career coaching services, recognizing that if your career is to be an expression of who you are, then it should align with the rest of your life.

The program is designed to take you from self-discovery all the way through targeted job search strategies.

INNER PATHWAYS (EXPLORATION AND SELF-DISCOVERY)

Step 1: Set Your Course
In this step you'll set the stage for the journey ahead. Gain a new sense of hope and direction as you begin to explore your dreams and create a vision for your future.

Step 2: Clear Your Path of Obstacles
Before you can be free to move forward, it's important to clear away any roadblocks standing in your way. In this step, you'll learn how to identify and release self-doubts, fears, and self-sabotaging beliefs that keep you stuck.

Step 3: Gain Insight
Know who you are and what you really want so you can find the career that's true and authentic for you. A variety of assessments and exercises will help you discover and clarify your key strengths, values, motivated skills, top interests, and personality type.

OUTER PATHWAYS (CREATION AND ACTION)

Step 4: Explore Your Possibilities
Come up with career ideas and options that fit who you are, and clarify how you want to share your gifts with others. Narrow down your options to those that are in sync with your life purpose, values, and priorities. Brainstorm the best ways to research and learn more about your options.

Step 5: Create Your Action Plan
Describe your ideal career. Figure out what skills and resources you need to get from where you are now to where you want to be. Strengthen your commitment to moving forward. Then define your goals and the steps needed to achieve those goals. Outline an action plan to support your transition.

Step 6: Take Action and Move Forward
Reach your goals through a targeted job search or marketing strategy. Take concrete action steps that will move you into your new career (researching and networking more effectively, strengthening your "brand", creating a powerful resume). Learn what you need to do to make a successful career change after 50.

Career Coaching Options

What you get with my career coaching services...

  • A 90-minute initial session to set the stage for our work together
  • Two or three 1-hour coaching sessions by phone each month (you determine how often we meet)
  • Exercises, worksheets, assessments, and resources to help you through each step of the process
  • Unlimited email contact

The time it takes to see results is different for each client. Some clients achieve their goals after only a few sessions. Other clients, who wish to go through all phases of the career change process, may take 3 to 6 months to transition into a more rewarding and meaningful career.
